I see you: ”Imparare in età precoce a rispettare le differenze culturali e ad abbattere i pregiudizi, con il teatro creativo e le Persona Dolls”

Il progetto si propone di celebrare le differenze e di aiutare i bambini  a rispettarle, con la finalità di facilitare l’ eliminazione dei pregiudizi,  fin dalla prima infanzia. Per giungere a questo traguardo i bambini verranno aiutati ad esprimere i loro sentimenti, a comprendere cosa gli altri bambini possono provare in determinate situazioni e a rispettare le persone con differenti caratteristiche e bisogni speciali, con lo scopo di sviluppare l’empatia e la consapevolezza dei propri e degli altrui sentimenti e comportamenti.

I bambini saranno incoraggiati ad apprezzare le caratteristiche della propria cultura e allo stesso tempo conosceranno  altre culture, impareranno a rispettare le diversità e le somiglianze tra differenti modelli culturali.

Inoltre, il progetto mira ad educare i genitori e gli insegnanti all’abbattimento dei loro pregiudizi, al fine di evitare la trasmissione di questi ultimi rispettivamente ai loro figli e alunni. Infatti,  molte ricerche concordano sul fatto che i tratti fondamentali della personalità, acquisiti in età precoce, non si modificheranno più e quindi la vita sociale futura ne sarà profondamente influenzata.

Lavoreremo insieme ai bambini   per migliorare la qualità delle loro relazioni e della lo ro vita  futura, utilizzando il metodo del teatro creativo e delle Persona Dolls:attraverso il teatro i bambini creeranno un mondo immaginario dove riflettere le loro conoscenze e le loro esperienze, in questo modo li aiuteremo a comprendersi e a capire meglio il mondo in cui vivono non solo nel tempo presente  ma anche, grazie alle competenze acquisite, lungo tutto il processo della loro crescita .

The Comenius “I see you” Project

“Learning to respect differences and eliminate prejudice, through creative drama and Persona Dolls”

The project aims to celebrate cultural differences and help children to respect them, in the hope of eliminating prejudice from childhood on. In order to achieve this goal,
the children will be assisted in expressing their feelings, understanding what
other children may feel in particular situations and respecting people with
different characteristics and special needs. They will thus develop empathy
towards other children and a better understanding of their own and others’
feelings and behaviour.

The children will be encouraged to appreciate the distinguishing features of their own
culture, and at the same time they will learn about other cultures: they will
learn to respect differences, while discovering similarities among five European countries.

Moreover, one of the project’s main objectives is to involve parents and teachers, and help
them to recognize and remove their prejudices, in order to avoid passing them on
to their children and pupils. As a matter of fact, a great deal of research shows
that a person’s essential personality traits developed in early childhood will
not change over time, thus his/her future social life will be deeply influenced by them.

To this end we will work with the children to improve the quality of their relationships and
of their future life, by using creative drama and Persona Dolls: through
theatre children will create an imaginary world where they can process their
experiences and knowledge, in order to better understand themselves and the
world they live in, not only in the present but, thanks to the skills they will
have learned, over the course of their lifetime.
